The premise
Finally, there is global attention on Black lives and the necessary changes needed to create a world of equality, regardless of skin color or ethnicity. Black people are significantly underrepresented in anime and Japanese culture. Most clothing brands featuring anime-themed apparel only showcase Asian and White characters. I aim to change this by proposing a series of clothing designs that highlight Black people in anime style.
Why?
This clothing series will appeal not only to anime and manga enthusiasts but also to a broader audience. As anime and manga become more mainstream, more people are eager to wear related apparel. This initiative will make anime more accessible to an even larger audience while promoting representation and inclusivity for Black people.
